Dear Parents/Guardians,

We are nearing the end of the year - 2009 and we would like to share with you some of the changes that have been incorporated in the management.

We bid farewell to our Rector, Fr. Oscar Horo, SJ. after six years of dedicated service to Loyola. Fr. Horo will always be remembered for his gentle ways, hard work and his great love for children. He joined Loyola in 2003 as Rector and was appointed as Vice-Principal of the Junior Section in 2005. He maintained a good rapport with his subordinates and superiors and was appreciated and liked by all. We wish him all the very best in his future endeavours.

Fr. E. A. Augustine, S.J., has replaced Fr. Oscar Horo, S.J., as the Rector. Fr. Augustine joined the Jesuit Society in 1969. He is an Advocate by profession and helps the underprivileged in settling legal matters. He was engaged in the Jamshedpur Literacy Mission, B.E.P. The main aim of this project was to motivate the rural population for education and provide them with basic necessities. He also served at XLRI, Jamshedpur and XIM, Bhubaneswar. We welcome him and wish him all the best as he takes over the Rectorship of Loyola School.

We feel glad to inform you that for the first time, at Loyola, a lay person has been selected as the Vice-Principal of the Junior Section. Mrs. Pinky Midha, with a Ph.D. to her credit, has been on the Staff of Loyola School from September, 1982. She was appointed the Co-ordinator of the Junior School in 1998. The Management has found her to be a very responsible, courteous, conscientious and efficient teacher. She has put in many years of dedicated service in Loyola and now it is time for her to be rewarded. On September 14, 2009 she assumed the office as the Vice-Principal of the Junior Section. We wish her all the very best in her new appointment.

Parents, kindly note the Second Term Examinations begin on October 7, 2009. Remember, what you instill in them at home, we can only reinforce. You are requested to encourage your wards to do these exams well.

With Warm Greetings & Regards for the Pujas to our Hindu brethren and ID Mubarak to our Muslim brethren.

Yours sincerely,

Fr. Victor Misquith , SJ.
