The medium of instruction is English. However Hindi has avital role in the curriculum and is taught daily in all standards. Education at Loyola is liberal and universal, but at the same time it is Indian and firmly rooted in Indian History and tradition, and according to the suggestions made by the Indian Education Commissions.
The curriculum, therefore religion, Moral Instruction, English Literature & Composition, Hindi, Sanskrit, History, Geography, Civics, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Accounts / Economics, Comuter Science, Socially useful Productive Work, EVS and SAPA in the lower classes.
Since education in Loyola is conducted in English and a high standard of English is required for success in ICSE and ISC, the use of English on the school campus is compulsory.
Regular attendance, alertness in class, performance of regular class work and revision, are sufficient to make progress. Parents could make the class teaching even more valuable if they speak correct English and Hindi to their wards at home.
In this connection it is to be noted that private tuition is regarded as unnecessary, if not harmful. It encourages students to be inattentive in class. No student is allowed to go to his/her own subject teacher for tuition.
